End Of The Road Festival unveils first names for 2025
Headliners Caribou, Father John Misty, Self Esteem and Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory are among the first wave of acts to be announced for End Of The Road Festival 2025.
Held in Dorset’s Larmer Tree Gardens, the festival brings together a selection of some of the best names across independent rock and folk music. Now in its 19th year, the festival has been celebrated for its genre-spanning lineups, which have featured acts including Future Islands, contemporary Irish folk group Lankum, Bristol punk band Idles and shoegaze legends Slowdive.
Following this morning’s initial lineup reveal, this year’s edition is set to be one of the festival’s best yet, promising punters a thrillingly diverse range of sounds, with artists spanning folk, jazz, electronic, rap, indie, and many more.
Returning to the festival 15 years after his first appearance in the Big Top is Canadian electronic producer Caribou, whose new album ‘Honey’ features distinctively AI-infused sounds.
Headlining the Thursday night is enigmatic singer, songwriter, and actor Sharon Van Etten, performing alongside her new band The Attachment Theory, whose self-titled debut album comes out in early 2025.
Indie pop icon Self Esteem also joins the bill as a headliner. With her hotly anticipated third album set to arrive next year, the Sheffield artist always promises cathartic, dynamic performances that ooze with theatricality.
Joining them are Mount Kimbie, who released their expansive and atmospheric LP ‘The Sunset Violent’ this autumn, Black Country, New Road whose beautifully experimental chamber rock sounds have amassed them a cult following over recent years, and experimental fusion rock group GOAT.
Elswehere on the lineup are Former black midi frontman Geordie Greep, Aussie punks Tropical Fuck Storm, and South African Future Punk trailblazer Moonchild Sanelly, who recently collaborated with headliner Self Esteem on the electrifying single ‘Big Man’.
The Dorset festival will bring the gloriously enviable catalogue of Throwing Muses to stage, as well as exciting appearances from Joy Orbison, These New Puritans, Rosali, and Ela Minus. Exhibiting the festival’s beloved eclecticism, Syrian bouzouki player Mohammad Syfkhan, folk artist Lisa O’Neill, and spiritual jazz musician, Emma-Jean Thackray also join the bill.
With many more names due to be announced over the coming months, End Of The Road 2025 is not one to miss.
The festival’s 2025 edition will take place from the 28th to the 31st of August. Tickets are available for purchase here.
