Atlas Club gig series raises funds for Palestinian medical aid

In a snug and warmly lit South London pub on a Thursday night, three musicians joined together to raise money for Medical Aid For Palestinians through an evening of live indie music.

Promoted and organised by Lerryn Whitfield, ‘Atlas Club’ saw its first – and extremely successful – night of music on the 18th of January. Lerryn was joined by fellow performers Naima Bock and Clémentine March at the Ivy House, Nunhead, where over £500 was raised for the charity.

By the time the music was set to begin, the room was heaving. Separated from the bar itself, entrance into the music hall allowed for an entirely detached and intimate atmosphere.

Bock kicked off the night with an acoustic-oriented set of fresh, recently written songs, bringing the audience to a captivated silence. March followed with an equally enrapturing performance, and the night was beautifully closed by Lerryn herself.

This night was only the beginning of a series of fundraiser concerts, with all ticket proceeds going to Medical Aid For Palestinians, a British charity that offers medical services in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon.

If the success of this first Atlas Club concert was anything to go by, future events are sure to have a similarly incredible turnout. The next show will be held in March.
